9 months old!

9 months...really??  I feel like I say this every month, but seriously, life is moving so fast!  Between working, my husband traveling here and there, the babies learning something new every.single.day, where does the time go?  The babies are doing so well and I love them more and more with each passing day!  As you can see from the photos above, the babies are busy, nosey, interactive, involved, curious, and learning to test their limits and boundaries with each "step" they take!  So here's my "baby book" update for 9 months...

Vivian at 9 months..."V's" hair is finally starting to lay down!  Although if not properly brushed after a bath she can wake up with some "crazy hair" as we call it!  We visited the pediatrician this week for the babies 9 month check up and Vivian weighed in at 15 pounds, 14 ounces (7th % but growing appropriate for her growth curve) and 26 and 3/4 inches long (24th %)!  She's still just a little bit of a thing!  She is wearing 6 month clothes, size 2-3 diapers in the day and a size 3 diaper at night.  She is sleeping 7:30ish PM to 7 or 7:30 am.  Vivian takes 4 bottles a day averaging about 18 ounces per day!  She's eating all sorts of foods and is much more willing to try things if she sees me eating them. Tonight after about 4 or 5 different attempts she finally put some watermelon in her mouth and enjoyed it because she saw me eating some!  She's enjoys eating cheese, crackers, puffs, kiwi, Cheetos, bananas, bread and baby food to name a few.  She does not enjoy yogurt, squash (which I used to think was her favorite), or cooked carrot pieces...does anyone really like cooked carrots?  Vivian is a rolling like crazy and gets where ever she needs to by rolling as her number one form of transportation.  She loves to stand with assistance!  She's spending more time on her belly and can move around in a circle.  Vivian enjoys sleeping in her sleep sack and is now taking 2 naps per day, but can fall asleep in the car in less then 2 minutes if we run out but can happily live on much less sleep then her brother. Vivian is becoming a side sleeper.  Last weekend I finally lowered both of the babies cribs to the lowest level so there is no over board babies!  Vivian loves to munch on board books, playing during bath time, sucking water from the wash cloths in the bath and nibbling on her toes.  Her favorite toys include: iPhones, the remotes, mommy's necklace, the laptop, the video monitor, the big purple ball, jewlery, the camera, Sophie the giraffe, board books, and Oliver's pacifier (preferably the one in his mouth!).  Haha...truly she loves just about any toy you give her or she can get her little grubby paws on...if they make noise and light up, all the better!

Oliver at 9 months... "O" is finally growing some hair and it's longest right behind his ears...haha!  Oliver weighs in 21 pounds 6 ounces (68th %) and 29 inches long (76th %).  Oliver is still wearing 9 month clothing and has been since he was about 3 months old! (disclaimer: they were big then and they are getting kinda snug now but with the changing of the season I've stopped buying new winter clothes. He fits nicely into the 12 month summer clothes that we've had the luxury of wearing 2 or 3 times on those warm spring days, so we look forward to having more of them soon!)  Oliver is still wearing size 3 diapers in the day and size 4 diapers at night.  Oliver takes 4 bottles per day averaging about 24-28 ounces.  Oliver is also trying all sorts of new foods.  Tonight he too put some watermelon into his mouth and enjoyed it!  He likes puffs, kiwi, Cheetos, crackers, puffs, bananas, bread, puffs, Cheetos, crackers, cheese, and "baby" nutragrain bars and baby food or course...this is just a short list!  This boy likes to eat!  He DOES.NOT.LIKE yogurt (warm, cold, plain, vanilla, blueberry), he does not like it!  As my mom said, "I've never seen someone gag so hard and not lose their entire lunch."  Shocking for a boy who likes to eat everything!  Oh well...  Oliver's preferred mode of transportation continues to be rolling and he seems to be able to get anything and everything he should and shouldn't have by rolling.  Oliver LOVES standing with assistance and gets angry to be sat down.  He still occasionally forgets he has a twin sister who requires and deserves equal attention.  Oliver loves to be held and sit in your lap.  Oliver is taking 2 naps per day but occasionally still needs that 3rd evening cat nap.  Oliver is a side sleeper who moves all over the crib!  Oliver loves bath time, can finally consistently grab his toes, and is a toy bulldozer who tosses everything out of the way!  Oliver's favorite toys include:  iPhones, mommy's necklace, the big purple ball, Vivian's soothie pacifiers to "gnaw" on but doesn't know how to actually suck on (preferably the one in her mouth), the big purple ball, knocking down a stack of blocks, the big purple ball, his bottle to play with after he eats.  Did I mention he loves the big purple ball?

The babies still love, love, love their "lovie" (read "burp rag").  Oliver will play peek-a-boo for a long time with or without someone else playing with him.  Vivian loves to play with her hair while leaning against you while enjoying her bottle...Amen, this is such an accomplishment for our little lady.

It's always such a joy to see their sweet, sweet faces & read about what's new at your house! Every day brings a new surprise! Thanks to you & Matt - and of course V & O - for bringing so many smiles to so many people. It's a joy!
